GTA VI’s age rating, still unpublished in late September, now appears. Screen Rant and Game Rant report that Rockstar’s official website shows the game with an ESRB M (Mature) rating.

What the rating says

According to Screen Rant, the descriptors are: blood and gore, intense violence, mature humor, nudity, strong language, strong sexual content, and use of drugs and alcohol. That is the same list shown for GTA V, so it does not by itself suggest the series is going further than earlier entries.

M has been the series standard for decades. The usual exception cited is GTA 2, which shipped with a T rating.

What to keep in mind

The ESRB rating applies mainly in the United States and Canada. Europe uses PEGI, and Vicepedia has not found a published PEGI rating for GTA VI. The descriptor list also does not say which scenes or mechanics earned it.

We could not read Rockstar’s official page directly because it loads through scripts. That is why this story is marked medio-verificado until it can be checked at the source. The same goes for exactly when it appeared: on September 22, GTA Intel still described it as pending.

For the wider schedule, see the GTA VI release date.
