Take-Two on GTA VI for PC: increasingly important, still no date
At the annual shareholders meeting, Strauss Zelnick dodged the PC date again: the strategy is to launch wherever there is an audience and PC weighs more and more. Rockstar's track record points to 2027-2028.
PC players will have to keep waiting. At Take-Two’s annual shareholders meeting, held last week, CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked directly about the cadence of PC launches - against the backdrop of PS5 Pro shortages driven precisely by GTA VI’s arrival. His answer gives no date: the company’s strategy is, over time, “to launch for any platforms for which there’s a meaningful audience”, and he noted that “the PC platform is becoming more and more important to our company”.
It is not the first time Zelnick has danced around the subject. In May he acknowledged that PC can account for up to half the sales of a major release, but defended launching GTA VI on console as focusing on “the core consumer”. The industry reading is a familiar one: double-dipping - console first, PC later - is the model that turned GTA 5 into a sales phenomenon across three hardware generations.
The track record sets the wait: GTA 5 took 18 months to jump from console to PC (2013-2015) and Red Dead Redemption 2 took 13 (2018-2019). If Rockstar repeats the pattern, the reasonable window for GTA VI on PC sits between late 2027 and 2028, always without official confirmation. At the same meeting, Zelnick insisted that GTA VI is “a singleplayer experience” and that the current GTA Online will keep getting support after launch.
GTA VI arrives on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with pre-orders open since June. For everything known about the PC version, we have a dedicated wiki entry.

GTA VI on PC: everything we know
GTA VI launches November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. There is no PC date, but Take-Two keeps saying PC is becoming more and more important to the company and that its strategy is to launch on every platform with a meaningful audience. History suggests a wait of one to two years.
GTA VI Online: what we know about multiplayer
Rockstar has announced no online mode for GTA VI. Take-Two confirmed at its annual shareholder meeting that GTA VI is a single-player title and that GTA Online (2013) will keep getting support after launch "and beyond". Twitch's CEO places multiplayer in 2027, with no official confirmation.
