Twitch CEO says GTA VI multiplayer is coming in 2027

Twitch CEO Dan Clancy said in an interview with Bloomberg that GTA VI multiplayer arrives in 2027. “We spent a lot of time talking with Rockstar about their plans, and also helping them think about how they can engage our creators. You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer,” he said.

An important caveat: Rockstar has announced nothing about GTA VI’s online mode, and it is a safe bet Clancy is not authorized to make that announcement. Still, his words do not sound speculative, and they come days after Take-Two confirmed at its shareholder meeting that GTA Online will keep getting support after GTA 6 launches, and after Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier noted the company is not planning to talk about the new online any time soon.

The pieces fit a familiar pattern: GTA 5 launched in September 2013 and GTA Online followed two weeks later, but this time everything points to a much longer gap and, perhaps, a standalone product. PC Gamer asked Rockstar and Twitch for comment with no reply so far.
