Anonymous developer claims GTA VI runs about 80 hours
According to an unidentified source quoted by media, the main story plus a good share of side content would total around 80 hours, and completionists could pass 100. Rockstar has confirmed no figure.
How long is GTA VI? A new piece for the rumor mill: an alleged Rockstar developer, speaking anonymously, claims the main story plus a healthy share of side content runs about 80 hours in a playthrough of an early build. The same source says that after finishing the campaign, many map icons were still unexplored, so completionists could go well past 100 hours.
The caveats are mandatory and come first: the source is anonymous and impossible to verify, the figure comes from an old build (content changes until the final month), and Rockstar has not said a word about game length. That is why this story is marked as a rumor.
Context does give it plausibility: GTA 5’s campaign ran about 30-35 hours and Red Dead Redemption 2’s around 50-60; a jump to 80 would fit the ambition Rockstar has shown in the trailers and a whole-state map. The game also ships with no launch multiplayer, so the campaign is the entire November 19 product.
The real figure will only come from the game itself (or reviews, if there is a pre-launch embargo). Until then: a rumor labeled as a rumor.
