GTA VI store listings add PEGI 18, "sex scenes" in Australia and New Zealand, and an in-game purchases label
According to gHacks, official listings show ESRB M and PEGI 18. PlayStation Store pages in Australia and New Zealand mention sex scenes, and an unexplained in-game purchases notice appears.
A day after the ESRB M rating for GTA VI appeared, the game’s store and Rockstar website listings show more regional ratings. This updates what we said yesterday about PEGI, which we had not found then.
What the listings show
According to gHacks, the listing shows ESRB M in the US and PEGI 18 in the UK. The PlayStation Store pages for Australia and New Zealand also name “sex scenes” among the rated content. Game*Spark covers it too and adds that Japan’s CERO rating is still marked as pending review.
gHacks notes that on the same store GTA V’s listing only says “Sex”, even though the game has a scene of that kind, so the different wording does not by itself confirm how GTA VI handles the content. Trailers have already shown intimate scenes between Jason and Lucia.
The in-game purchases label
The listing also carries an “in-game purchases” notice. gHacks points out that it sits oddly with what Rockstar said this summer about no monetization in the game, and that Rockstar has not explained the label. Treat it as an open question: it may relate to the Ultimate Edition or other content, but that is not confirmed.
What is still missing
The ESRB has not yet published its detailed summary, which usually cites specific scenes and mechanics. Vicepedia could not read the original store pages or Rockstar’s website and relies on the press cited, so the level is medio-verificado.
