An Extended Look guide: what the 26-minute video showed
What Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look (August 27, 2026) showed, with sources and what is not confirmed.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look premiered on August 27, 2026 in collaboration with Netflix. Rockstar says the whole presentation was captured from in-game footage on PlayStation 5. It runs about 26 minutes (Variety says 27) and is the longest look so far, and the first focused on gameplay rather than just cutscenes.
How it was released
Netflix had an exclusive window of about six hours; it then reached Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the GTA VI site. Being captured on PS5 does not change the confirmed platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Strauss Zelnick later explained the idea was to teach how to play while entertaining the audience.
What was shown
According to Rockstar Report’s summary:
- A job for Boobie Ike. Jason and Lucia enter a drug operation and a police raid turns it into a shootout through the building.
- Varied missions. Getaway work and a security job at a corporate launch party, with stretches of driving, interiors and combat.
- Interactive interiors. Lucia’s apartment, with Jason opening the fridge.
- Activities. A montage with backyard wrestling, basketball, gym workouts, jet skis, kayaking, scuba diving and several kinds of racing. More in activities.
What it does not confirm
Being recorded in-game does not mean every shot is direct player control, nor does it prove every building in Leonida can be entered. We do not treat any scene detail without a cited source as confirmed. Afterwards, Rob Nelson gave more gameplay details in interviews.
