GTA VI will have Rockstar's largest collection of clothing and accessories
Game Informer's feature describes clothing materials, dirt, wear and fit tied to the location and social context of Leonida's residents.
Rockstar is expanding more than its range of NPC body types and physical features. According to Outlook Respawn’s summary of the Game Informer cover story, GTA VI will feature the studio’s largest collection of clothing and accessories.
Michael Kane, vice president of dynamic art, describes work spanning materials, colors, patterns, branding and fit. It also includes dirt and weathering tied to the characters’ circumstances and how they inhabit Leonida. GTABase likewise reports that clothing will vary by location and social situation.
Dressing Leonida, rather than swapping shirts
The range includes shoes, sneakers, sunglasses, hats and watches. The coverage notes that Rockstar considered the cultural weight of certain accessories, rather than treating them as interchangeable items detached from their surroundings.
That fits a world with six regions: clothing is another way to distinguish their residents and circumstances. It does not confirm that every NPC automatically changes outfits, or a particular washing or clothing-damage mechanic during play. The reported details describe how visual variety is built and represented.
Rockstar has not provided a total item count or explained how much of this collection Jason and Lucia can access. Its largest collection yet should not be read as a confirmed number of player customization options.
